Tjoet Nyak Meutia

Tjoet Nyak Meutia (Keureutoe, Pirak, North Aceh, 1870 - alue Kurieng, Aceh, October 24, 1910) is a national hero of Indonesia from Aceh. He was buried in alue Kurieng, Aceh. He became a national hero of Indonesia by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 107/1964 in 1964. Meutia Tjoet initially resisted the Netherlands with her husband Teuku Muhammad or Teuku Tjik Tunong. But in March 1905, Tjik Tunong Dutch captured and executed by the beach Lhokseumawe. Before he died, Teuku Tjik Tunong Pang Nanggroe instructing his friend to want to marry her and take care of her son King Teuku Sabi. Tjoet Meutia later married her husband Pang Nanggroe according wills and join with other forces under the leadership of Teuku Muda Gantoe. In the battle with the Corps Marechausée in Paya Cicem, Tjoet Meutia and the woman fled into the woods. Pang Nanggroe themselves continue to fight until death on 26 September 1910. Tjoet Meutia then get up and continue to fight together the remnants of his army. He attacked and robbed colonial outposts while moving toward the pass Gayo wilderness. However, on October 24, 1910, Tjoet Meutia together his army clashed with Marechausée in Alue Kurieng. In that battle Tjoet Njak Meutia fall.
